Welsh Economy

Central to the debate on Welsh Independence is of course  the Economy, or rather the state of the economy  at the time of Independence. Now personally I think there are equally important issues which influence my desire for freedom from the British Empire. Freedom, the desire to have my identity recognised, the right to have control over my Countries affairs etc but of course the Economy of Wales is central to this debate. Trouble is the UK government stubbornly refuses to publish the figures it has available. People have a stab at the figures of course, Gerry Holtham came up with a figure of £6 Billion deficit whilst the UK deficit for the same year was £68 Billion. Given the mismanagement of the Welsh economy by the powers that be at Westminster its hardly surprising to see such a deficit.
Even so I still cannot understand why the UK government doesn't publish the figures in the absence of any cogent rationale critique in favour of the Union. All I see to back up the status quo is fear of change. Of course you can't exactly argue that Wales within the present union is an outstanding success. As Westminster control all of the levers of power, Taxation, Borrowing and Macro/Micro economic policy, they and only they are responsible for the state of the Welsh economy, so maybe that is why they wont publish. Either way the UK government should make those figures public to enable a proper debate, sooner rather than later!

Independence

To me Independence for Wales is the difference between invisibility in the UK and innovation on the world stage, simple as!!!!

Tory Boy does it again!

Fresh from alienating the UK from the rest of the EU "Bullingdon Dave" is now doing the same within the UK. I feel sure Alex Salmond will welcome the intervention from "Dave" and the rest of his Unionist chums who all look and sound like some sort of "Brit-Clones" coming up with the same little Britisher message. Just imagine how this hopeless bunch of reactionaries would whinge and whine if the EU said the UK could not have a referendum on in or out of the EU as long as the EU could specify the question, the timing etc. There would be Little Britishers dropping like flies as their blood pressure went through the roof!

Yes I am sure the crusty old lawyers will have hours of fun pontificating over whether the Scottish Parliament or the increasingly manic Westminster mob have bragging rights in this matter. But the fact is that it is people not the interpretation of law that is important in this matter and the people of Scotland own this decision not "Bullingdon Dave" and his right wing mates. I have no doubt with every utterance from the little Britishers the numbers wanting Scottish freedom rises. It shows how difficult it is for British Imperialism to let go, just ask India or the plethora of other Countries who have had to fight so hard to be free of the British yoke!
